She got too wrapped up in the fact that we wanted to hold off on our daughters hair, claimed to our son we didn't value her "professional opinion". I guess this was enough for her to refuse to provide quality service to our son. It's very sad when a child has a poor experience because an adult can't be a professional in their place of work.

I started going here a year ago and I swear I wont go to any other salon!! I see amy every time because she and I just connect. Although everyone in here is amazing and friendly!
Best hair salon on the Big Island. Current, on trend, immaculate shop with friendly talented hair staff. My hair always looks and feels great. Love that they offer you beverages and the neck and scalp massage when they was your hair is heaven in a hair salon.
The 1 star was easily earned for the salon itself. It was clean with a nice feel. Big, friendly dog running around. Our kids loved that. Nice lady greeted us, offered us drinks and pointed us over to the chair/person doing their hair.

We took our 12 year old son and 9 year old daughter to Beth (we thiiiiiink is her name) at Icicles Hair Salon for back to school hair cuts. Neither of my children went home happy. We thought my sons hair looked okay after the cut for it was an improvement from what it was, but our son then proceeded to explain to us that we told her he is trying to grow his hair out and it's finally getting through the awkward stage. He was looking for a cut/style that could help and we asked if she had any ideas. He now wants to know why he didn't get his typical head/neck massage while washing (that's his favorite part) and why she would give him such a generic short combover hair cut causing him to start all over again? It's short on the sides/back and poofy on top. Almost like a faded bowl cut... lol... but our son has super thick/wavy hair and it is a mess, not a combover, less than an hour after styling. His father and I looked closer and his hair has a very choppy fade from the top of the head to his neck and his neckline is hardly cleaned up and uneven. Hardly considered a quality haircut for $35 (not including tip). She also spoke illy about the boys mother to him while she had him in the back washing his hair, causing him to feel uncomfortable, because we felt she wasn't confident to cut our 9 year old daughters hair the way we wanted it and told us it just won't work out like that. Our daughter has opposite hair as our son, it's very easy to manage and we are very confident it is a style that can be accomplished. We are taking her to someone else who is confident to do an asymmetric cut with short hair without a choppy, over layered look.
