My 6-year-old daughter spent the night with a horrible toothache and awoke with a swollen face. In the morning we checked Angie's List and a few other sites to find a pediatric dentist for our frightened and suffering little girl. The Elite Smile Center in Kailua Kona and particularly Dr. Michael Jones had favorable reviews so we gave them a call. The whole experience from that moment forward was quite remarkable. I was told that the doctor had no appointments and was placed briefly on hold. Shortly thereafter I was told that the doctor would work us into his schedule since my child was in pain.
Upon arriving at the office we found in to be very clean and professional. After a short wait in the lobby (complete with children’s books) I was surprised by the doctor himself greeting my daughter. My stoic child said nothing in reply to his kind questions, which did not faze him at all. He turned to his staff and said, “We need to see this one right away, she is very uncomfortable.” Within minutes x-rays were complete, personal stories were exchanged (because we live in Hawaii this is the most important part), a diagnosis given, and a plan of action agreed upon. My daughter was included and informed along the way in a manner that she could understand. In less than an hour, two teeth had been painlessly removed, follow up care described, prescription written, bill paid (complete with the very-rare-these-days-private-pay discount), and a jubilant child saying thank you.

DON'T GO HERE W/YOUR CHILD!!! My daughters (9&10) LOVE dentists, in fact my youngest have discussed often how she wants to be one. Until today. So much went wrong, 1) they would not allow my wife to go back with her - SHE'S 9 2nd time seeing dentist! My daughter was screaming for her, crying, they forbid her to go back to console her... my daughter said they hit her slapped her, restrained her, even scratched her! I've filed a official complaint, she came out running (literally) hyperventilating etc. shaking so scared so save your child's mental and physical stress and goto another dentist. We have pulled all our family from this place, and NEVER RETURNING.
My daughter best summed up the entire experience at bedtime when she said to me, “You know, if I ever need a dentist, I would like to go to him again.” I highly recommend Dr. Michael Jones for his kindness, skill, and bedside manner.
So far they haven't kept even one appointment they just call three days before saying we have to reschedule for three months later! Worst experience I've ever had making appointments. Just an insurance scam. Buy the most expensive insurance that will actually let you be seen.
