Huge variety, good quality merchandise usually at a better price than the local grocery or big box competitors. Fairly good volume of organic products - but NOT very Vegan friendly outside of their produce dept. Generally a positive shopping experience and a very customer friendly return policy. My biggest complaint about Costco is that they fairly frequently discontinue products we love without letting anyone know that it will no longer be available.
Being able to buy staple items in bulk is great because it is a great way to cut down grocery bills. In addition to food and dry goods, there is a growing array of household items as well as personal items and services. While their offerings are not as extensive as stores like Wal-Mart and Target, products are always priced so well that it is often worth double checking Costco for big ticket items like TVs, computers, and jewelry. The biggest drawback is the lack of variety in items (i.e. usually only have 1 choice, maybe 2 choices for an item). Also, this Costco seems to struggle with fresh fruit/vegetables as it is not unusual to find fruit that is growing mold out for sale in the freezer area (possibly a challenge that comes with perishable bulk products)
This is the biggest Costco that we have ever seen! On the way to the beach, we stopped for a cooked chicken and picnic food. Surprise! -- they have a great selection of Hawaiian shirts for $20.00. Wish that I had bought mine there, but I had bought one already just a few days before. There is a wide selection of beach and outdoor gear and all of the things you would expect to find in Costco. Parking is free and our checkout was quick.

The first thing we did after landing in Big Island is to go to Costco the next morning for our groceries. We literally bought everything we needed for a week for our family of 5. Excellent way for vacation planning if you have decent sized family. Local attractions are offered in good prices though we didn't get any. Poke is good. We didn't buy vegetables as they were in bulk. Other than that, Costco helped us get good quality items that really helped during our vacation.
