I was seen by the doctor shortly after arriving. The staff is very careful to identify any conflicts with existing medication you're taking, or allergies, which may exacerbate the condition you came in with.
I saw Dr. Knewtson for a gout flareup today. I'm visitingfrom the mainland, used this Google tool, and Yelp to increase my chances of seeing a competent provider with supportive and helpful office stuff. I was certainly not disappointed.
This was our first time needing any kind of medical care in Kona since we bought our condo 3 years ago. What a pleasant experience. The front desk staff knows what needs to be done to get you seen by the doctor as quickly as possible. The doctor that treated my wife is very experienced and pleasant. Everyone in this clinic was professional and courteous. Check out was simply and quick. While we were seeing the doctor, the front desk staff had researched our medical insurance benefits and had everything ready when we were through with the visit.
I was billed a default copay of $40.62 even though Blue Cross Blue Shield indicated 20% Copay for out of network. The woman who processed the billing did not bother to verify my 20% rate and charged me the office default rate. She gave me an attitude when I brought up that I was over charged. When she realized her mistake, she did not apologize and continued to proceed with a demeaning attitude as she rebilled me. This happened twice after I confirmed that my insurance was in network. Accountability is lacking at this facility and patients should be aware of their insurance coverage beforehand and question a charge that seems suspicious.
Nice and clean walk in clinic. Good service and nice staff. One thing that I don't like about it when the Doctor can't do or fix when it comes with medium cutt or bite from eel. The Doctor well send you to ER.
We would highly recommend this Urgent Care clinic to anyone in need of minor medical care.
Took my daughter as our GP was on vacation and she needed an exam for school sports and the staff was kind enough to take care of all of our needs in order to get our daughter to play school sports! Appreciate the extra steps that Dr. Phillips took to take care of Rhiannon's asthma by asking all the right questions. So glad that she did as we found out that we needed a different medication. So glad that we came to see the great staff and they were from the Doctors to the support staff Full of Aloha! So glad they are in my neighborhood. More people need to visit this Urgent Care as they will save money and time with their NO APPOINTMENT necessary service.. They also have the best Doctors who are dedicated to their patients and are very friendly and professional.
He prescribed a medication that will take care of this for me and allow me to get back into vacation mode. Grateful for that. He also gave me some pointers on avoiding flare ups in the future, and advice to see my primary care physician when I return home for longer-term assistance.
