Excellent tour! We seen several fish, dolphins, and shipwrecks. Would recommend especially for small children.

My wife and I both enjoyed our trip very much it starts with a short five minute ferry to the submarine where you get a very nice view of the bay then boarding the actual submarine is fun as you well have to climb down the hatch and find you're seat our tour was not very crowded so we were able to spread out a little the crew was very nice and knowledgeable. Like every other tour it was very well rehearsed we saw many schools of fish and two shipwrecks. Or guide also explained how sunlight works underwater and why it is difficult to see the "animal planet" reef colors. In summary this is a great photo opportunity your little ones wheel enjoy it and for us we loved it

Worth every penny.

It was amazing to see the place I live from a radically different perspective. Guests are transported to the submarine via an open air boat (there is a roof to protect guests from the sun) and several rows of bench seats. Staff present a short safety presentation (like the one given on airplanes but with some humor) while traveling to the submarine. Once at the submarine, guests climb down about 10 feet on a metal ladder. The submarine has 2 rows of seats facing back to back with all seats directly in front of a window. The submarine will descend at least 100 feet and lasts about an hour (after getting into the submarine). While it is up to chance what comes into view during the tour, having the opportunity to spend time underwater like this is wonderful for anyone who is too afraid or unable to go diving. On my trip, we had a 4 year old child and adults in their 30s, 60s, and 70s. Everyone loved It! Great activity for families! However, getting in and out of the submarine and being in a contained space for an hour may be difficult for some people. The only let down is the photo/video offered for sale at the end (the photo is of your party while boarding). The boat sign was cut off in our photo and the production quality of the extremely short video (about 7 minutes long) was truly terrible. We discovered after buying it that it was just a basic photo slide show that has to be run on a computer instead of a dvd player because it is not an actual video. Despite this small drawback this is an excellent tour for just about anyone visiting Kona. Locals should definitely consider this tour too because they offer great kama'aina pricing.

First time on a submarine and all I can say is this was a great experience. The staff was knowledgeable and provided excellent service. The submarine took us down 111 feet and we saw many fishes as well as two sharks and two ship wrecks.
