This course has real potential yet has some glaring issues. Pros: Great layout, fantastic finishing holes 17/18, not crowded. Cons: Greens and tee boxes are not consistently in the best of shape, inconsistent green speeds, no clubhouse, ran out of food by 2pm (pack your own lunch), price (if paying full public price). If in better condition, I’d give this 4 stars. Would play again.
Favorite golf on the Big Island! No. 17 & 18 are awesome closing holes!
The course is absolutely Breath taking!! The very friendly bag guy and check in ranger was quite comical and had “jokes”! Greens were very well kept and would love to go back tomorrow, but gotta head back to Michigan!

Big Island Country Club is a "Diamond in the Hills"! What an amazing course all around. The layout is awesome, the condition of the course was perfect and the staff is the best! The ranger who meet us when we got there, Malcolm, was more like a course Butler than a Ranger took phenomenal care of us during our entire time there . My wife and I felt better taken care of at Big Island than any of the other 3 course we played on Hawaii. This course is a definitely on our our list to play next time we are on the Big Island.
