There is not a neighbor "Sam Buttons" living below Three Ring Ranch. The nasty review was posted by an unknown person and not at all reflective of Three Ring Ranch. Please see the Trip Advisor or Yelp reviews to read real reviews by people who have been to the ranch and attended one of the educational programs. Nearly everyone who has reviewed Three Ring Ranch ranks it as one of the best places to visit in Hawaii. Children over age 6 very welcome. It is a walking tour and a true sanctuary so the animals comfort and visitor safety is very important. To learn more visit the Three Ring Ranch web site.

Thoughtful, committed, and conscientious.

Ann, Norm and their team of volunteers take incredible care of all their animals! The ranch is literally in their backyard, which makes for an interesting experience. The layout is nicely balanced for animal comfort and human viewing, and the grounds are very well kept. If you're in the area, it's well worth it to visit! They have a small operation but you get up close to some unique local birds of prey as well as many exotic monkeys, birds, and big animals like buffalo, ostrich, zebras and alpacas. Way better experience than at a bigger zoo.

Not a petting zoo! This is a learning environment with everything from primates to zebras, also a really nice wolf hound who does like to get a scratch behind the ears. We thought we knew a lot about animals, but learned better ways to approach them then some common misconceptions would have you believe. We got to feed some ostriches and a Buffalo. Most of these animals have had hard lives and are being helped to live happy lives now. Strongly suggest if you are an animal lover and crave knowledge.

Fireworks are prohibited by law within 1000 feet of any animal hospital or rehab facility in Hawaii. Signs are posted both at July 4th and New Years. Our real neighbors are wonderful people who understand the animals and enjoy having them nearby. It would take a really mean person to light fireworks on purpose to scare animals who had been abused before they came to a sanctuary right? That would be more like a monster, someone who was on their way to a life of crime and time in prison. Yikes so glad that the real neighbors are wonderful.

Aloha All,

We scheduled a VIP tour at the ranch during our stay at Hawaii, and Ann Goody, who runs the sanctuary made it into one of the most memorable experiences from our vacation. Ann really is as close as you can get to a real life Dr. Doolittle, her knowledge about animals and their behavior is astounding: be it monkeys, bison, zebras or macaws, she knows how to communicate with them. She has an enthusiasm about the animals that is very catching, and we learned how to properly get close to and greet horses, dogs, chinchillas and macaws. Some of the stories about the animals and how they ended up at the sanctuary are almost unbelievable. If yore planning to go here, remember that you must schedule a visit through email, and that this is not a petting zoo. It is first and foremost the home of a wide variety of animals. For their own and the animals' sake, you cannot bring your dog or children under the age of 6 on a tour.

FYI.
