The receptionist was particularly unfriendly. We happened not to have cash to pay since they were supposed to accept debit cards.
The guy on the phone was rude for absolutely no reason. Conversation goes
Plus the place is not clean, pay attention if you don't want to step on cockroaches.
Don't go there.
Serious problems with the managers attitude. Wouldn't stay here.
"Hi do you have any beds available?"
"Oh, just the one, so you don't have a dorm available?"
The man became so violent that we ended up calling 911 to calm things down.
"Okay, I was just double checking seeing as I'm sure a private is significantly more expensive than a dorm"
The place is Ok : well located, big room. You share 1 kitchen and bathroom for 2 rooms.
"Yes I have a private, is it for one or for two?"
"You are correct.."
Nope I'll be going elsewhere
The owner or manager was absolutely rude from the beginning. Everything started with the check in, he didn t even look at me. Obviously we were sharing the same place because he seemed very upset to see us in the kitchen. The day after, we were taking our breakfast at 8AM on the terrasse and he came to tell us that he was sleeping close and we were "loud". So apparently as a customer you are not allowed to take your breakfast and have a normal conversation while the owner or manager is still sleeping...
The bathroom is fonctionnal but dirty. The kitchen was not very clean as well and the oven and stoves were broken.
I loved it here, quiet with very kind staff. It's not a resort so if that's what your looking for go elsewhere.. But I thought it was perfect for what I needed and it's walking distance to downtown Kona. Aloha!
