Overall this is a great hotel for families and couples.
Down the street is a great place to snorkel.
This is a very nice resort. Definitely doesn't get a full 5 stars but it's for nice rooms, great beds, a lovely grounds with a great pool. This is very family friendly and has a water slide and nice pool area for the kids, however there's no beach to speak of. The location is on lava rock. The views and walks are gorgeous and if you don't need a Sandy Beach it's a great place to stay.
One of the best hotels I've ever stayed. I was impressed with the entire atmosphere; the room is good, not great and I think that's because the Kona side of Hawaii gets humid and the upkeep can be tough. I was impressed with the service! The hotel and it's pools was beautiful.
Well, let me start with the good. The pool is really nice and that's about where it ends. The rooms are dated and the bathrooms are pretty disgusting. The ceiling is cracking, there was black stuff around the toilet and the air vent in the bathroom was nasty and I don't think it was cleaned in years if ever. The biggest issue was though is that we had a MOUSE in our room. We kept hearing a noise all night and finally woke up around 4 AM only to see a mouse run across the floor. We called and had maintenance come to the room and the mouse ran across my wife's foot, my daughter freaked out and the mouse ran into a hole in the bathroom. We insisted that we be moved to another room which they did honor the request. No compensation for the night was offered until I finally asked the manager. They ended up compensating us a $150 which I thought was kind of a joke as they should have credited us for the entire night. I have emailed and called the district manager but so far, no response. I will be writing Sheraton about this as well. Of all the years that I have traveled I have never had any issues with rodents in my room.
Headed there for the artisan market and then into the pool side restaurant for some snacks. Snacks at the restaurant were okay nothing too fancy. The pool area is gorgeous over looking the ocean with two water slides one big one small and a spray area for the kids. Might need to stay here sometime in the future just for the pool. Heading back there for dinner sometime in the next week for dinner with the mantas hopefully.
The hotel also partners with another company to do a luau on its grounds.
It was way more than I expected. The hotel has a very good view. The rooms are clean and the service is okay. It has parking fee of 15$ per night. The courtyard is pretty amazing. The hotel has a convenient store inside it. The best part of this hotel is the giant pool. Kona downtown is about 20 min drive from the hotel.
