They are always out of something like today. How does a place that serves breakfast all-day run or if bacon, and biscuits etc. Staff is friendly and try their best with what they have to accommodate their customers. Problem always start at the top owner and or management.
Ok, we come here quite often and service has never been quite good. But this time was “IT”. This we stood there for at least 15 minutes and nobody even coming checking on us to be able to get a seat while only one guy was doing the front area also taking the money from people paying on their way out. So we chose to go and sit down ourselves as the people behind us and behind them were all saying maybe we should seat ourselves !!!! So we did, none of the tables were clean so we went sitting down at one that was still left behind. The waitress comes up to us and says you guys went seating your cells and you took a dirty table you are to wait until someone comes and sits you so they can put you at a decent table, in a yelling kind of voice. To which I apologized and said well I am sorry but we already have been waiting for 15 minutes and nobody came. She said, you just can’t be seating yourself to which I said OK then in that case we rather leave, which we did, as well as the people right behind us when they saw us coming out and I explained why !!!! They said we will never come back here, after which my hubby and I looked at each other and said well it might be our last time too.
Best Denny's ever. Friendly staff. Great Ham an Cheese omelette. My wife raved about the pancakes.
I live on the Big Island and have been to Denny's many times. The restaurant is very nice, so now I go by the service I get. And it's only fair that when I get excellent service, management should be made aware of it. Well, this may be the best way for great employees to be credited for their service, which I think is getting harder and harder to find. So, Denny's you have a great employee. Very professional. I could tell she has had some kind of fine dining service experience. Elana on 10-26-17 at 6:15 am.
I understand being short on personnel but please do not yell at your customers, an apology for letting us standing maybe would have been in place rather than being yelled at !!!!!
I visited this restaurant twice while on the Big Island and ordered the same meal both times. The service wasn't great. The first time, they let me substitute the bacon/sausage that came with my meal for toast. The second time, I was told that it's their policy not to substitute bread for protein and they couldn't accommodate my request. Bread is cheaper than meat -- why wouldn't they accommodate a simple request like that?
