Amazing food, well worth the wait. My family went here two nights. The first it was a 45 minute wait at about 7pm. Second night we went at 5:15 or so and were seated immediately. Friendly staff and again, amazing food.
Normally I can start every review with at least 1 good thing even if it's bad. Well, I can't honestly come up with one good thing. I ordered 3 different drinks and was told they were out of each. Finally, I settled for a Corona at least they had that. Went to order dinner and they were out of what I wanted. Decided to have the Ribeye, how can you go wrong? Well... Damn near raw, half fat and grizzle. My wife ordered the catch of the day which consisted of 3 little pieces of dried out fish with seasoning and a ice cream scooper full of mashed potatoes for $34. I understand stuff is more expensive in Hawaii but put some effort into it. If I could give 0 or even negative stars I would.
Great place, great food! Leah M., our server, had excellent recommendations, a wonderful, genuine, happy smile, and was very very good at her job. Fresh catch fish of the day was outstanding and the cheese sauce and pretzel bite appetizer was oh oh oh so good. Lovely easy listening live music made the open air ambience enchanting! Great food, great service! Leah made our evening fun and satisfying. We can't wait to come back!
Innovative (but not “experimental”) food that is well executed. All the ingredients are local and fresh. Great subtle flavors, even in the custom house drinks (try the basil lemonade).
Everything is made from scratch, so expect your meal at a casual pace. You might want to look at the dessert menu when you receive your entree as some of them take a while to prepare. But it's Hawaii, where do you have to rush off to? Aloha!
The grits in their shrimp and grits were perfectly cooked.
This restaurant boasts that they are farm to table and locally sourced. I asked a lot of standard questions in regards to this as I am in Hawaii on an island thousands of miles from other sources. When I done in Hawaii, I like to support local farms and sources. I was told everything was local. I ordered the ribs in excitement from some island pork ribs. After 15 minutes the manager came out an informed me that the pork was imported because there were slaughter house laws. That is not true as I have eaten plenty of local pork and beef products. They even tried to set the food on front of me after I was clear I wanted go spend my money on locally sourced food. This restaurant is a sham, please support local not this joke.
