We weren't actually able to go. Our entire trip to Hawaii was cancelled two times (first because of tropical storm flooding, then the reschedul got screwed up because of United Airlines and we weren't able to actually get on the plane). The first time, we were able to reschedule and the second time, they gave us a full refund!
They also offered a very good buffet-style dinner and open bar.
The reason I am giving it 2 stars is the food. The food .... I could have gotton better food at a walmart deli it was NO ware worth the cost. Never ever will do it again and will Never recommend it to anyone. This is not just my veiw but I ask 10 people around me they all said the same thing . Now the show fantastic 4.5 stars authentic luau , But the best food item was the sweet potatoes. They need a Chef. Pork was ok extremely bland no taste and nothing but hot sause to put on it. Very Very disappointed after dropping almost $500.00 on a meal and the deserts taste like they were very old and strait out of a wrapper from a gas station. DO NOT Waste your money.
I attended the Island Breeze Haleo Luau at the Sheraton Kona Resort.
The show was a wonderful experience: they had live musicians and an emcee but what surprised me was the poetic narration that accompanied the graceful dancers. It was an entertaining insight into the culture and history of the native Hawaiians and that hula is not just a style of dance.
If the service in the Luau is anything like what we just experienced (turning a terrible day into a much better one), then you will have an amazing experience!
