Sad to say I won’t be supporting the only art supplies store in town. No artist to artist interaction. Bitter experience topped with some very poor customer service.
Envy. Usually easy to avoid, but missing Akamai in Port Townsend is sometimes hard to bear. Our community loved this business and the owners! Loved them. Having an art studio in an artist colony town without art supplies does not make sense. We envy you in Hawaii. What a fabulously stocked store. We always found what we needed in stock and only occasionally had to order something.
I’m an experienced artist & was expecting to be talked to with professionalism & maybe even feel more inspired when I left....I was feeling out of my element shopping for a friend (wanting a medium I was unfamiliar with)
After my interactions with the three woman working I Walked out empty handed & will be placing an online order...which I was trying to avoid in the first place.

Sorry for my harshness...I don’t normally leave reviews...i’m just pretty bummed to leave a space designed for artists feeling unwelcomed & uninspired. I see almost all positive reviews so I’m hoping maybe today was a rare occasion for what I experienced
