Great trail access to multiple trails including Kings Trail. Historic information. Worth coming to if you're a tourist. Walk the trails it's the best part.

This area covers two of the Big Island's National Parks: Kaloko-Honokohau NationalHistorical Park and Ala Kahakai Historic Trail. Kahoko_Honoohau National Historical Park features fish ponds, lava fields, and the historical trail. We had walked the Ala Kahiko Historic Trail in the Waikoloa area, so it was interesting to see what it looked like in this area.

This place is epic. When you park, you can't even imagine what's waiting for you on the other side of some shrubbery and a 5-10min walk. First word that comes to mind is paradise. There is a straw hut, palm trees, and a sacred temple on the peninsula. Just be wary, this isn't a great place to go swimming by any stretch of that word's meaning. This is def a place to hang, chill, relax, get your feet wet. The reason being that it's an old fish hatchery that doesn't get any deeper then 1-3 feet.

This is not a "beach park". While there is a beach, it is not meant for being a "beach", but showing respect.

After a relatively easy short walk of less than a mile you are rewarded with a stunning vista and the chance to see sea turtles in their natural habitat. Most of the walk is over gravel and in the sun, without much shade. But if you bring some water and wear sunscreen, it's no big deal. There are restroom facilities available. The turtles regularly come up out of the water and rest in the sand. There are warning signs to keep 20 feet away. You can go swimming/snorkling at the beach. This is a great little spot and not usually crowded.

Cool park with history and great views.
