I loved the sunset from the old kona airport park. Plenty of place to enjoy the sunset. Parking is not a problem, the whole place is a giant parking lot. I highly recommend this place for sunset.
Nice long beach to walk on, beautiful botanical garden and cool little skate park are a few of the things this are has to offer. The little cove to the far north of the beach is way cool. Worth checking out when visiting the BI.
great place to visit the beach. thinking beach, not swimming beach. lol. has a walking area/path where people have gardening spots. very peaceful for a morning walk or evening stroll. people love to barbecue at any one of the spots on the beach or the pavilions provided by the county for recreational activities. there is also a skating rink, not ice just rollerblade as well as a skateboarding rink before you get to the walking path. they usually hold the county fair here when in town once a year.
