The worst property management company I've ever experienced and we travel a lot. VERY expensive and the condo wasn't equipped with the essentials. We paid over $4000 for 5 days at the Kolea condo property and our place was not equipped with the essential stuff. The towels were damp and ratty, the kitchen wasn't stalked well, the hot water didn't work in a bathroom, the ice maker was broken... Use VRBO if you want to stay in beautiful Kolea. We will never use Abby rentals again, back to using VRBO (much less money and the units are equipped with everything you need!). Our friends would all agree... DON'T RENT THROUGH ABBEY RENTALS. The friends who booked through VRBO were super happy, like we were the past few years...
We were very frustrated with our rental (Keauhau Estates #185) It is advertised as having a new AC unit, whereas only the bedrooms are airconditioned and the rest of the house is very hot and uncomfortable. We had splurged, spending extra money for this wonderful house, yet it destroyed our vacation. You can't use the "expansive" kitchen as it is way to hot to cook in! We ended up spending extra money to eat out--with it being so hot. Ceiling fans are so high they did very little good. The lighting in the great room is horrid--only a few 40 watt bulbs. We used flashlights to read in the room! The management company doesn't respond promptly, and just stated "they are sorry for the inconvenience" without any other help or partial refund of the rental price. The fire pit didn't have any propane tank----and took them 2 days for them to believe us. I wouldn't recomend Abbey Rentals/KonaRentals at all.

Of all the houses we have rented in Hawaii this one was the best. It was the cleanest, had the most comfortable beds, the windows had screens, and the setting was perfect. We ate breakfast outside and enjoyed the view of the ocean and plantings. The one great disappointment was the hot tub. We were looking forward to it for fun and therapy and despite many attempts to fix it, it did not get fixed until our sixth day.
We stayed at Kona Isle, D1. This beautiful condo is on the ground floor and is steps away from the ocean and the pool. The condo is beautifully decorated and has everything you would want or need. Abbey Vacation Rentals staff were friendly and helpful. The on site manager, Brian, was hospitable and prompt when responding to our inquiries. The condo has a washer/dryer, dishwasher, comfortable king sized bed, cable TV, and big screen TV. They had beach chairs, towels, umbrellas, and beach mats for our use. We loved sitting out on the lanai and watching the sunset. We would definitely stay here again. This condo is a 10/10. I can't think of anything that would have made our stay more enjoyable! LOVED IT!!!!
