Because we got to go further we were able to help them set their dive record for the year at 131 feet below surface. This was fun because the crew got pretty excited and were taking out their phones and snapping pictures of the depth indicator.
Staff are great and the trip was great. Only problem was it was a little cramped.
Once we dropped down I was a bit worried about getting seasick but they have great airflow in the sub and I never once felt sick. As you are going down you get to see some amazing things; lots of fish and coral. You also go by two shipwrecks.
We had a small group (only enough people to fill up one side of the sub). So they did a one-sided tour which meant we got to see more things and go further (they didn't have to turn the sub around to show things out of both sides, just one). They also sat the sub down on the ocean floor which was neat.
The whole experience was a great one and a really unique one. We all enjoyed it a lot and would definitely recommend. We have been doing some amazing tours on this trip to Hawaii and this was definitely one of them.
The submarine is awesome ! My family loved it ! The crew is very competent, it was great to see the fish and to experiment the bottom floor of the ocean. Very well spent money !
The crew of the sub were excellent. Ryan was great and his commentary during the dive was interesting and informative. The tour was everything we expected it to be, and was a really pleasant way to spend a couple of hours. The sub was really cool and, as I'm unable to scuba dive, I really enjoyed being able to reach 100 feet under water.
I was very nervous about doing this submarine ride; I get seasick easily and was nervous about transferring from the boat to the submarine (Which you do out in the middle of the ocean). However I shouldn't have worried. The staff here was incredibly professional and they have this down to a science. It was a nice boat ride out to the submarine and the transfer between the two was easy and safe.
We saw loads of fish, a couple of small shipwrecks and even a white tipped reef shark, which was a real treat. We enjoyed it so much that we considered booking another dive when we arrived on Oahu, but didn't quite have the time or remaining funds!
A couple of reviews I read a review about Atlantis Adventures that said it was nothing special. Not quite sure what those people expect for an hour long and reasonably priced tourist excursion, but we thoroughly enjoyed every moment. Would absolutely recommend it to anyone and wouldn't hesitate to book with Atlantis again if we ever find ourselves back in Hawaii.
Booked a submarine dive with Atlantis Adventures on Kona as part of our honeymoon. We were looking forward to it for weeks, and it didn't disappoint.
There was a booking office in our hotel (the Courtyard by Marriott King Kamehameha's Kona Beach), which was super helpful because we ended up wanting to book something else that clashed with our Atlantis booking, and so were able to pop in to ask if they would be able to reschedule our dive. They were so friendly and really helpful, and booked us onto a tour that very afternoon.
Had a great time on the Atlantis submarine, a great ride and capture kona had a quality photo to help us remember our 50th anniversary.
