We booked last minute on Bite me 4 while in Kona and ended up landing a 375lb Blue Marlin. Captain Dave and Judah were awesome! We had a blast and finally got the fish of a lifetime! Can't say Thank You enough! What a great day! Would definitely book with them again! Mahalo Dave and Judah!
What an amazing experience!! Dave, our captain, and Juda, our deckhand we're both super accommodating. The charter was an excursion for my wife and I for our honeymoon. We we're with 4 other people which was not a bad thing at all. Juda was informative and had some great stories to boot. He explained what he was doing, and the significance. My wife and I being casual fishers, it would cool to see this operation on a larger scale. We ended up catching a 5 and a half foot Marlin which was an experience in and of itself. And then on the journey back, saw some dolphins jumping out if the water. When we got back to the dock, we got to see them cut up th marlin, and then we got pieces to take home with us to cook and eat!
And remember.... NO BANANAS!!!!
The most horrible fishing experience ever..... my family and I went out on a deep sea fishing private charter...we paid 600 for the trip. I caught a marlin... They never even let me hold it. They released it with out my saying to do so. We were told we would get to keep what we caught. And I caught a blue marlin and the guy released it and never brought it in to the boat. That should have been my decision on if I wanted to keep it or release it.... especially paying 600....this was the biggest JOKE ever......do not pay and waste money to go out on a tour with these people.....
Customer service from the receptionist was awful. Called to tell them I left a few things on the boat in the morning (8 am). Answering service refused to take a message. Hiking with no service so couldn't call until mid afternoon. Receptionist said I should have called earlier and that it was too bad because the crews were not working that afternoon and she said it would be disrespectful to go onto the boat without them.... then said she was done with the conversation. How about being nasty and disrespectful to a customer that paid over $700 for a charter the day before? Since I leave tomorrow morning guess I don't get my things back... real nice.
Cons- besides the awful customer service, it is Expensive and Odds of catching a fish are pretty low with the trolling technique that they use. Out for half a day and not even a whiff of a fish. There was no spot that they targeted to improve our chances, no other technique or live bait to use.
We took a trip with bite me fishing.an it was amazing. IF you are looking to charter a boat in kona hawaii these guys are it super nice an do what it takes to get you on the fish. Thanks Nate an Steve you guys rock
Pros are that the crew was nice and tried to get us close to the dolphins (but they were not interested in swimming with us- not the crews fault). The crew happily answered our questions.
I'm not sure what expectations other people had that they are giving these guys 1 star, but I can tell ya now the 4 hours we spent with Juda and Dave this morning were memorable! If you get the opportunity, go out with these guys.
