I loved every magical minute of my trip; the compassionate and caring staff, amazing turquoise waters, warm Kona trades, the respect of the dolphins & the Big Island and the true Spirit of Ohana.....I would definitley do it again and again! Thank you Nancy, Jean & crew.
The dolphin journey I went on was such a magnificent experience. Captain Nancy is such a loving person and she guided us through the water with grace.
Dolphin Journeys is who you want to see the dolphins with. They understand the spiritual and healing aspect of the dolphins, as well as provide a fun filled experience.
Although I am an ex employee of this company I have to say I've been on a couple different Dolphin Tours and I have no reason and no benefit to post this but this is one of the better to her said then on and had the pleasure of helping host. There's a Max of 6 guests on the vessel and they take you out on a private tour or a tutor with only a few other people. This is a very intimate, very spiritual tour with the possibility of a little bit of romance one in there just being with you and your loved ones on the vessel. It is crewed by one deckhand that also swims with you as a swim support as well as a captain then prepare for many emergency and it's a pretty good lunch too complete with fresh pineapple chopped every (believe me most of the time I was the one doing it XD), Gourmet fresh Sandwiches ordered from a bakery at the harbor, and chips that are made on island.
Awesome experience! Captain Randy put us in the water with the dolphins 5 times. Also got to watch whales and did some scuba diving. Will definitely do this again.
I've been to the Big Island many times and personally had the great pleasure of taking 3 different excusions with Dolphin Journeys. In 2007 I took my entire family on a private charter. It was pure magic! Swimming in the bay with a large pod of about 200 dolphins and getting to know them like Captain Nancy does was incredible. On my trip last year in 2009, we saw a very rare species of whale, and snorkeled in some of the finest remote spots on the Kona Coast. Capt. Nancy's crew is competent and fun and brings their expertise to create a complete experience. I will go again, and again for sure, and recommend Dolphin Journeys to all who love the ocean and make the Big Island their destination. Mahalo Nui Loa!
