I would have liked to take the cruise earlier in our visit so we could have taken the snorkeling one later.
Body Glove runs a large ~65' boat, making this the smoothest cruise available in the area, and the best option for those who may get motion sickness.
Body Glove cruises go above and beyond. The crew on the boat is super friendly and attentive, making sure you have all you need and always checking up on you.
Two excellent decks for viewing and not a bad seat on the boat. We were fortunate to see a group of 3 humpbacks that came right up to the boat (which was still in the water - I was also very appreciative that they obeyed federal and state regulations and gave the whales their space, which is not true of all tour companies). We were also lucky enough to see a school of hammerheads.
This is a great tour to take if you are in Kona. They do a morning snorkel tour, an afternoon snorkel tour, and an evening dinner cruise. My wife, son, and I had a great time with the Staff and Management of The Body Glove....everyone is so super friendly!!
You can park for free at their shop and walk 5 min to the boat. Better than hunting for sparse parking along Ali'i drive.
The naturalist is extremely knowledgeable and can answer just about any question you have.
This tour of dolphins and snorkeling was grand. (Thought captain Cook was on this upon signing up but it’s a different one) There was a bit of confusion going up to the building and then walking down. We thought the group would walk down from there and I thought we needed to check in there and all. Anyhow with that out of the way...(other than getting seasick for bout 15min) ...had to get my sealegs going. Not been on cruise ships or too many larger boats in my life though I’m working on fixing that. Ok let’s get down to the best stuff...the boat ride was good and saw many dolphins going and coming back, maybe even more coming back as there were several very close to us on the way back. This was the first time snorkeling so it was about 15 min or so to get the hang of it and once that was smoothed out, well it was pretty awesome!! Fish were all over. Several different kind. Saw an eel, that was sweet. We even seen an octopus! He was hanging around for a bit and moving around and a diver even got inked by it and it got on his back! We were very close to it and was pretty much like super awesome! Did I say that already?!? That was about the coolest part, really it was awesome!! The staff was very friendly and helpful and attentive. Highly recommend that you do this.
Let me start off by saying I payed 495$ for 3 adults and 1 child. The crew was nice I even got to drive the boat. I wish that not just only pop drinks was free but the whisky and the beer was also free. And the food was horrible. The rice was just horrible. The music was Perfect he played what I wanted. I WANT MY 100$ BACK maby I give 5 stars
My wife and I attended the dinner cruise. Picked up some tickets at Costco for about a hundred bucks a piece. The whole crew was amazing, had our excellent historian who told us about the sights as we cruised past and had great Hawaiian music during dinner and the cruise. Dinner was good and sufficient for the number of people on board.
