Me and my hubby went out fishing with Captain Chuck this week and had an amazing time. We were escorted out of the harbor by dolphins and thought that seemed like a good sign, then we had a double (mahi mahi and an ono) landed within our first hour of our trip. It was a bit rough on the water, but we felt completely safe in his hands.
My brother and I chartered Chuck's boat for 3/4 of a day last week, and I couldn't be happier. It was our first time deep-sea fishing, and Chuck and his deck hand/first mate were very accommodating. The boat's nice, clean, and comfortable, and Chuck definitely knows his stuff. After a couple hours of slow fishing, he spotted a school of Skipjack Tuna, and promptly got my brother to reel one in using light tackle. We then rigged the fish as bait, and shortly thereafter hooked into a ~300lb Blue Marlin that I played for a bit, though he pulled the old jump and shake, spitting the bait. Overall, I couldn't have asked for a better first deep-sea fishing trip, and I'll definitely be chartering his boat if I should find myself in Kona again. Awesome experience! Thanks Chuck!
The captain Chuck is awesome he really knows the sportfishing spots in Kona my wife caught a 7 foot Blue Marlin the deck hand Shawn is awesome once we got the Marlin next to the boat we took pictures then released the Marlin. Memory of a Life time. I recommend the Hooked up sportfishing Boat .
We ended up catching a blue marlin too to really top off our trip. We will definitely go back out next year when we come back to the Island.
