Really impressed about the size of the man rays, this tour will take you only five minutes away from the shore to see the man rays. It is a calming adventure because you are not going to be swimming all around, you will be calm down looking at them with a small group of people, organized floating. This tour is different to the others, this will be a small group and not a bunch of people.
The best part of the trip was the fact that we made in into the water with a pack of around 100 dolphins. What an epic experience!
Spent the day with Nick and John, they really take care of you. First we went swimming with dolphins and other breath taking underwater creatures - an experience I will never forget. There is no way possible to see that many dolphins underwater swimming in sync, other than in the ocean. Then ended the night swimming with Manta Rays, they are huge gentle giants. They come within inches of you before they gracefully avoid you.
My brother and I went with My Kona Adventures on a morning dolphin adventure. We were fortunate enough to see dolphins, humpback whales and a manta ray. It was one of the greatest experiences of our lives!
Very interesting experience but very short (manta ray diving at night) and very expensive. I’m not sure it was worth ~$80/person for only about an hour. Staff was late and unorganized but friendly when not preoccupied with other guests the staff already knew. 5 stars for the number of manta rays, 1-2 for the staff. Very cold, bring your own wetsuit if possible but shorties are provided.
The crew were great. They care about the guests and make sure that there are not too many people on the boat. We were 5 people which made the experience so much better due to the fact that the crew had more time to help us and talk to us about what we were doing/seeing.
The staff was great. Two staff members accompanied the five tourists on a small boat. The boat driver did a good job following the dolphins and positioning the boat so that we could jump out and see them underwater as they went by. The guide who was in the water with us was highly experienced and a very strong swimmer. He helped everyone back on the boat after each round of viewing (there were about five rounds). These two crew members made sure that everyone saw the dolphins and was satisfied. All equipment (flippers, snorkels, and goggles) were provided, as well as pool noodles for those who wanted them, such as I (although the water salinity was so high that sinking was probably impossible). On the way back, they served delicious pineapple and told jokes.
The crew know what they are doing and will do everything in their power to make a great experience for the guests. This showed clearly when we were almost out of time and the captain got a phone call saying that there were a 100 dolphins further down south. He chose to turn the boat around to give us this fantastic experience even though we ran over time. Mahalo!
