We went on the kayak tour to a sea cave on June 27th. There were two adult's and 2 kids in our group. Overall they took out 20 people, so 10 double boats, with 2 guides. Happy & Ben were our tour guides and each took turns along the route to tell us interesting facts about the area. We had drinks and snacks at the area for cliff jumping. My only let down was there was no mention of sea caves nor did we go in one which I was really looking forward to since it was on the description and why I chose this one. However overall it was a great experience and the guides were very friendly and fun! The kids really enjoyed it and the snorkel time,
The wife and I went on the Keauhou Bay Sea Cave Tour. Ben, our tour guide, was phenomenal - he kept the kayak and snorkel entertaining and he's extremely knowledgeable on the island. If you get Ben, take his advice on what to see and what to eat on the big island. Highlight of our week on the big island.
We originally had some difficulty figuring out where we were supposed to go to check in and were sad that the trip guides did not recommend that we actually go out once they surveyed the weather. However, we were able to reschedule for later in our week and had an absolutely amazing experience. Ben and Devin are so familiar with the area that they were able to steer us on a path providing us with the opportunity to be right alongside the dolphins. It was very important to them that each of us have an extraordinary experience. They welcomed any questions and reassured people that seemed a bit fearful of embracing the whole experience. Thanks Ben and Devin!
We drove from Hilo to Kona to do the sea cave kayaking tour and were so glad we did! It ended up raining all day and we weren't sure we would be able to go out after all, but we decided to try it. It was great! It ended up being just our family of 5 and Devon, our guide. He was very knowledgeable and definitely knew how to do his job. He helped us when we had trouble and made sure we knew what to do to keep ourselves safe, especially when the water got choppy. We got to check out one of the sea caves and go snorkeling and we had a great time! Highly recommend doing this!
Ok here it goes... this place was extremely unprofessional. First of all the directions on the website were wrong, so we barely found them. Our guide for the lava tubes kayaking tour was only 18 years old and didn't give any safety tips, advice or any kind of guidance. We just followed along and hoped for the best. The paddle out to the spot where we were supposed to snorkel at was nice. Lots of dolphin action. The problem came when it was time to snorkle. There was no defogger for the snorkle masks and no flippers, so it was a little difficult seeing anything. That didn't matter much though because our guide decided to anchor our kayaks above rocks in very low tide. Terrible idea. Almost as soon as we got into the water we got thrown over the rocks. You'd think he'd know better and anchor us over sand like every other kayaking tour guide we've used does, but no. I sustained many scrapes and cuts from the rocks and got a foot full of sea urchin spines. The other gentleman with us on the tour also got sea urchin spines in his leg. It was a terrible spot to snorkel in low tide. I think the guide (Tanner) was nice and all, but he was just too young and inexperienced. He obviously didn't know what he was doing and I suffered for it. My trip is pretty much ruined.
