After about a decade of dealing with Sunquest Vacations and its manager Pam Higgins, we finally gave up and put our condominium into the hands of another management company. We’ve never looked back. The professionalism of the second company, and the quadrupled income we’ve received, convinces us: We should’ve fired Sunquest years ago. We tried while still with Sunquest to overlook the unprofessionalism we observed. Now, we're so glad we finally pulled the plug on Sunquest. Ms. Higgins pushed her friends at us, touting them as top-knotch window-blinds installers, etc., but time and again her lavish praise rang false. For the final two years or so until we wised up, Ms. Higgins allowed our oceanfront condo to sit unoccupied, despite our expensive, extensive remodel that she encouraged, and that other agents praised, and despite the fact that she was filling other condos she managed. When I questioned her about the lack of occupancy, she demurred and “couldn’t explain it.” We came to understand that Ms. Higgins was punishing us for complaining about her friends’ unprofessionalism. Free of her at last, we wish her, and her friends, well. However, we recommend caution in dealing with this outfit. Our distrust of them is based on Sunquest's questionable deeds, especially during our final two years of trying to keep an open mind about Sunquest, and giving Pam Higgins multiple second chances.
We booked a condo that was very nice. The people from Sunquest were nice also until we had a problem. My son and wife were in the condo and we were at the beach. We got a call from them stating they were locked on the balcony. Going back took up part of our day. When we got back I called Sunquest. I first spoke with Andrea who said I needed to speak with Susan. When she asked why, I told her what happened. She said it happens when you slam the door, then she transferred me. I left a message stating what happened, that my son did not slam the door, and I spoke with the previous owners who said they thought that was fixed. I didn't get a response for a few weeks until I called back. They did nothing, not even an apology or stating they will look into it.
SunQuest is a VERY good outfit. Helpful and friendly! My sister and I had booked 2 condo units in Kona in the same complex. She had gone directly through the owner and I used SunQuest. They were having very noisy construction for the whole week...she was stuck, Sunquest moved us immediately to another very nice unit in a different complex. They could not have been more helpful or understanding. Really nice people (and I'm a critical person).
Very nice people to work with and quick to respond!
