Great people! Great Price! I had a problem with a rental car provided by Alamo's competitor. I asked for more trunk space to accommodate more luggage. Competitor replied with an up-charge for a different vehicle. I did some research and Alamo came through with a passenger van for less than the competitor's original price. I returned the competitor's car and picked up an Alamo. Everyone I contacted at Alamo was happy to see me and rent to me. I will look at Alamo first from now on for competitive rates.
Really great experience with our last Alamo rental on the Big Island, 11/28 through 12/3/17. Of course they were swamped at check-in so that went slowly, but we wound up with a brand new Nissan Altima - nice ride! What was very nice was the return. We got in the queue, a polite and courteous young man came over to us with his hand-held computer, checked the odometer and fuel data, printed out our receipt and we were on our way. Simple!
Absolutely impressed with the service here! On returning my car the lady asked how my experience was... I said it was wonderful except couple small things like that there was no washer fluid, window was dirty on the inside... She apologized and asked me how much I would like refunded so that I am happy. I was so shocked I couldn't even come up with a number. Just by the sheer gesture of offering that, made me satisfied. The management here is clearly doing something right here. She then offered me $30. I was more the happy. Hats off!! 100% coming back and they just sealed my loyalty big time. Thank you.
We rented a mid-sized SUV (Jeep) on the Big Island of Hawaii (through Costco Travel). The whole process with Alamo was easy and efficient. The vehicle was clean, smelled good (no smokers) ran well and got good gas mileage. The Alamo personnel were friendly and knowledgeable. Will definitely rent with Alamo again, even if their rates are a little higher. You get what you pay for.
The Ford Edge was clean and fully loaded. We were told on the website that we could get a free extra driver. When we checked out the car we were told that they couldn’t do this anymore. When we actually tried to add the extra driver the Alamo rep added the extra driver at no additional fee. We really appreciated this. We will use Alamo again because of the customer service.
