As an Express member, my reservation is prepared in advance so there is practically no wait, since it is a separate counter. Anyone can be an Express member and there is no member fee. Great value on rental fees, cars are always clean, reps at Hawaii counters give aloha service. Many thanks!
The staff and service is AMAZING! From the friendly shuttle drivers, to the rental return staff...and especially the service counter agents. Jolyne C. is absolutely incredible!!! GREAT Aloha spirit, and extremely helpful and hospitable. Been a Dollar Express member over 20 years, and Kona always impresses!!!
Doug was professional, efficient, and didn't push the add-ons excessively. Our vehicle, an unimpressive Jeep Compass, got the job done, which is probably the best I can say about this lame little suv. Overall, I felt the fairly efficient rental/return process provided acceptable value. Was I blown away by Dollar? No. But did I put up with aggressive sales people or extended wait times at any point in the process? Also No.
Car was in questionable condition with taped bumper, came with tire warning flashing first mile, extremely overpriced, overall this was experience that made me decide never to use Dollar again for personal or business trips. Car i reserved wasn't available, so of course i was overcharged for upgrade.
The lady from the front desk kept pushing me and asking me about my private personal insurance company, when it is not of their business. She wasn't nice at all. I would NOT recommend this branch at all. We rented with Dollar in Kauai a few days before and it was just the opposite, so I guess the problem is in this particular branch.
