Useless...is the best word. I tried to rent a car, no flight involved, Debit Card in hand and willing to pay cash. But NOOOOOOOO. If you don't have a Credit Card or a plane ticket you're hosed. They won't work with you and will not help. They cite their rules and "too bad for you" is the response.
Slow counter service. Friendly staff but serious "up sell". .car worked well.
Dollar/Thrifty delivered a relatively new (just under 1k miles) Nissan Quest minivan for our family of 5 touring on the Big Island HI for 10 days. Excellent Value for what we got. One thing though, even I had Dollar Express as I rent from Dollar a lot (usually I just walk up to the Dollar Express parking lot and look for my name and the stall number and get into that car and show my DL at the security gate and OFF I GO. But at Big Island HI, they had too many customers all at once during spring break and got backed up. We had to wait for around 20 minutes. Since we were on vacation and not on my usual business trip on a tight schedule, so no hurry. All worked well without problems.
Your "Rules" lost you a customer (BTW, other locals will rent in this situation) AND you got a crap review that you richly deserve!
They didn't have a car for us but they were very helpful and trying to find one for us
