Other than those two items, nice car and EXCELLENT service.
National steps up again. I Have always had good luck with National. This time was no different. Pleasant, prepared staff, a free upgrade and easy check in. No hassel. Job well done
Reception was prompt and courteous, especially at the very late hour we picked up the car, (10:49 PM).
Even though vehicle had only 1,340 miles on odometer, inside of windshield needed a thorough cleaning, which is normal for any rental I have ever had in Kona. The other issue, (which is normal for most car rentals I have experienced any location), is gas tank is never full when I pick up, although gas gauge indicates as full. The next morning I topped off gas with 2.5 gallons, after driving 28 miles in total. I'm pretty sure a new Altima gets better than 11.5 miles to the gallon on the highway, but that's the math. This is not a critique of National, but an accurate comment of all car rental companies wherever they are located.
Was able to make a last minute rental via their app. Not only was it cheaper then a reservation I had at another place, getting into the rental was a pleasure. Don't think I could say that about any other rental car experience. Shuttle driver was helpful and courteous. Returning the car was a breeze. I was able to setup all my rental preferences before walking up to the counter (fuel/insurance/gps etc).
Quick and polite check in and out. The Jeep performed well and even got decent mileage. Inside of the windshield was quite dirty, so that needs improvement. Also disappointed the car had neither Bluetooth nor USB charger ports-those are pretty much assumed in rental cars now. They should include an aux cable to use with the stereo to compensate, and perhaps add an aftermarket charger, secured to the car to prevent it disappearing.
Friendly, helpful service, especially noteworthy after a late night arrival. Cars are clean, well maintained (although a wider selection would be nice). On the few occasions when I've had a problem with a National car, here and elsewhere, they've resolved it quickly and fairly.
